Andrew Ramirez
President
Having previously served as your Vice President, Bargaining Team member, Membership Chair, and Elections Committee member, I am honored
To currently serve as your Association President. I have taught in Palmdale School District since 2007, and I have experienced the good, bad, and in-between. I want to work with you to make sure that the good far outweighs the rest.
Kelley Brown
Vice President
I have gratefully served as your bargaining chair for the last 4 years and am ready for a new role as VP to represent you just as passionately. I am an eighth grade teacher at Dos Caminos and have been with Palmdale School District since 1990.
Amber Godinez
Secretary
My name is Amber Godinez and I am a teacher at Innovations Academy. I an entering my 19th year of teaching. I spent 14 years teaching in LAUSD, where I was an active member/union representative with UTLA, in which I lead my school through the strike of 2019. I’ve been with PSD since 2019, and I am honored to be your PETA Secretary. I have been in this role since the Fall of 2022, and value keeping members informed in all union matters. We are PETA Strong, and #WeMakeItHappen!
Catherine Hutzel

I have been your PETA Treasurer since 2019 and it is my honor and privilege to serve the Palmdale Elementary Teachers Association. Thank you for believing and trusting in me to handle the union finances. Currently, I teach Culinary Arts and Sewing at Cactus Middle School. In a previous life, I enjoyed teaching 8th grade English in the Castaic Union School District at Castaic Middle School (both schools initials are CMS--was it fate? ).

My name is Celia R. Ayala. It is an honor to serve as ECE Director for a second term. I have been part of our Early Childhood Education program since 1996. l believe in member engagement and retention and helping members feel connected. Standing together we make it happen.

Antonieta Somoza
Director of Special Populations At-Large
I currently serve as the Special Populations At-Large Director. I am part of the Member Engagement and Organizing (MEO) Team and the CTA High Desert Service Center Vice-Chair. I have taught in Palmdale School District since 1997, starting my teaching career as an Early Childhood Inclusion Education teacher at the PSD ECE program for over 20 years. Currently, I am a 1st-grade SDC teacher at Yucca Elementary School. I am looking forward to working with you to improve public education.
